Cleveland Grover Brinkley Sr., of Driver, 73, father of W. L. Brinkley and C. G. Brinkley Jr. of Newport News, died Saturday morning in a Peninsula hospital. 

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mabel Heffington Brinkley; one other son, of Portsmouth: two daughters, of Titusville, Pa, and Portsmouth: 14, grandchildren, a brother, of Norfolk. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at R. W. Baker, Funeral Home. Suffolk. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk.
