Brett, Walter Richard, 82, of Ashland, husband of the late Neen Brett, died June 15, 2011. He is survived by two daughters, Christy Epps and Jo Ellen Flournoy; six grandchildren and five great-grandsons. Mr. Brett was a former Virginia State Trooper, former Magistrate of Hanover County, a retired local hardware man and member of Forest Grove United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends 2:30 to 4 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Forest Grove United Methodist Church, 13384 Ashland Rd., where services will be held at 4 p.m. Interment church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Forest Grove United Methodist Church.
