Davis Francis Bowles 

SUFFOLK - Davis Francis Bowles, 76 year old Franklin man and former Suffolk resident, died Sunday at 7:55 p.m. at a Williamsburg hospital. 

A resident of 705 Hill St., Franklin, he was a son of Jimmy and Mary Jones Bowles of Southampton County and the husband of the late Della Mae Britt Bowles. 

He is survived by four sons, Linwood D. and Horace Lee Bowles of Franklin, and Harvey Lee and James T. Bowles of Suffolk; three daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Marshall of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Mrs. Louise Colon of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Mrs. Lillian F. Jordan of Suffolk; a brother, Ashby J. Bowles of Portsmouth; a sister, Mrs. Sallie B. Crumpler of Handsom; 19 grandchildren and a great grandson. 

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Baker Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. J. H. Mashburn, pastor of the Suffolk Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will be at 314 Caroline Ave., Suffolk.
