Bowden CARRSVILLE Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Bowden, 77, resident of the Colosse community, died Wednesday at 5:20 a m. at her home after a brief illness. She was a daughter of George and Mrs. Virtley Carr Hines of Isle of Wight County and a member of Colosse Baptist Church, its Woman's Missionary Society, and the WBA Society. She was active in all activities of the church until about a year ago. Surviving are her husband. Mills D. Bowden; two sons, George T. and Ralph H. Bowden, all of Carrsville; a daughter, Mrs. Randolph Rose of Walters; eight grandchildren and IS greatgrandchildren. The body was taken to the Holland Funeral Home in Franklin, where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p,m by the Rev. J. Sidney Cobb, and the Rev. Jack Boyles, both former pastors of Colosse Baptist Church. Burial will be in Colosse Church cemetery.
