Jerome Bisese Obituary Jerome S. Bisese Jr. Portsmouth - Jerome "Jerry" Samuel Bisese, born November 24, 1943 Portsmouth, Va., died suddenly August 11, 2013 at the age of 69. Jerry graduated from St. Paul's High School in 1961 and attended Wheeling College in West Virginia for 2 years. He returned to Portsmouth, VA and joined the United States Marine Corps. He served 2 tours in Viet Nam and was honorably discharged. Jerry later joined the Navy and retired after more than 20 years of service. After his retirement, he lived in Baltimore, MD for a brief time only to return to Chesapeake, VA to be a loving and devoted caretaker to his parents. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Jerome Bisese Sr. and wife Margaret. He is survived by his siblings Suzanne (Susie) Betts and husband Henry, Joseph (Butch) Bisese and wife Lorraine, Marie Gelormine and husband Robert, Anne and partner Carole Johnson; nephews, Bobby Gelormine and wife Julie, Tony Gelormine and wife Heather, Tony Bisese and friend Laura Carini; and nieces Jeanne Betts Eubanks and husband Daniel and Melissa Betts; great nieces and nephews, Garrett Eubanks, Hannah Eubanks, Brenna Gelormine, Anthony Gelormine, Avery Gelormine and Logan Gelormine. Jerry will be greatly missed by his family and many friends and will be remembered for his wit, humor, compassion, and love of country. He enjoyed playing golf both real and electronic, going to Atlantic City and being at his home away from home, the Town Point Pub. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a. m. Friday, August 16, in the Church of the Resurrection with U. S. Navy Honors. A private burial will be held in Portsmouth Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p. m. at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk.
