Beale Jr., died Feb. 28, 2006, at her home. Born in Holland, Va., she was a daughter of the late Harvey James and Willie Mae Parker Darden. Mrs. Beale was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and her passions were her family, home and her garden. Survivors include two daughters, Jane Parker Beale Watson and Curtis Porch of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and Rebecca B. Lowe and the late Frederick E. of Franklin; a son, John E. Beale III and wife Barbara Joan of Chesapeake; a brother, J. Ashley Darden and wife Jane of Newsoms; six grandchildren, John Belin Watson III and wife Sheri Darden of Courtland, Michael Beale Watson and wife Christine Register of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Stephen Wade Watson and wife Virginia Baker of Courtland, Angela Mae Beale of Chesapeake, Frederick Edward Lowe II of Mountain Home, Ark. and Todd Alexander Lowe of Franklin; six great- grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Watson of Courtland, Jennifer Leigh Johnson, Kelly Marie Johnson and Leslie Michelle Johnson, all of Roanoke Rapids, Dustin Layne Watson and Lainey Rae Watson, both of Courtland; special brother and sisters-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. James R. Beale of Hampton and Betty Everett Darden of Newsoms; many nieces and nephews; and a special thanks to Mrs. Beale's caregivers. Mrs. Beale was predeceased by three brothers, Harvey James Darden Jr., W. Thomas Darden and Parker E. Darden. A graveside funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Wayne Harrison officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence at 27000 Rose Valley Road.
