Sarah Frances Bradshaw Beale - Obituary MRS. SARAH FRANCES BEALE Mrs. Sarah Frances Beale died November 23, 1918, aged 84 years, at the residence of her grandson, Mr. E. L. Beale, in South High street. She was the daughter of Zachariah Bradshaw, whose father fought under General George Washington, and was the oldest of four generations living in the same home. She had been a paralytic for nearly three years, bearing her affliction with Christian patience and fortitude. She was married in 1857 to John Beale, who preceded her to the grave in 1863, and leaves one child, Mrs. Ella J. Beale, three step-children, John Beale of Lotta, N. C.; Mrs. L. C. Cason of Ocean View, Va.; and Mrs. Mildred Corbitt of Holland, Va., besides several grandchildren and great-grand-children. She was for more than fifty years a consistent member of Union Christian Church. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon by Rev. C. H. Rowland. The pallbearers were W. H. Jones, W. H. Norfleet, E. C. Beale, W. A. Daughtrey, L. R. Jones, R. I. Beale, G. G. Smith and W. 0. Bristow.
