James Robert Beale December 2, 1938 - August 26, 2012 BEALE, James R., 73, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 at home with his family after a long illness. Mr. Beale was preceded in death by his parents, Martha McLane Beale and John Etheldred Beale Sr. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Paige Mayes Beale; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Beale began a lifelong career in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff in Southampton County. He left that position for two years to serve in the U.S. Army and later became an ASAC with the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board in the enforcement division. During his tenure there, Mr. Beale was appointed to attend the FBI Academy at Quantico in the 100th training session for law enforcement officers. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery, 16703 Walkers Mill Rd., Stony Creek, Va. 23882. Flowers will be provided at the service for friends and family to place on the casket pall as they recall a happy memory with Mr. Beale.
