Among the valued articles in the possession of the writer is a brief history of Methodism in Northampton County dating from 75 years ago written and presented to me by the saintly old gentleman just a few months ago. The funeral took place at New Hope church Friday afternoon [September 9, 1910] conducted by his pastor, Rev. W. B. North, D. D. Flythe sang two favorite songs of the deceased, namely, "There was a wayward Traveler," and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." His body was laid to rest beneath the sod at the old church he loved so well.
