Born in Nash County, NC and raised in Hunterdale, he was a truck driver for Meherrin Chemical and spent 19 years with Atlantic Wood Industries. He was a lifetime member of Shiloh Hunt Club and his passion was his garden and produce stand that he worked with his dear friend Bubba Gray. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Stone Lee Baker (Destinee); his mother, Jackie Baker Hicks; his wife, Vicky Vick Baker; a sister, Betty B. Whitehurst (Rusty); a brother, Edward Neil Baker (Lea Ann); a brother-in-law, Stephan Vick (Teresa); mother-in-law, Margaret Vick; and nieces and nephews, Ben Lane (Ansley), Sarah Whitehurst, Graysen H. Baker, and Hayden B. Vick. He was predeceased by his father, Hector Wayne Baker; his step father, Buck Hicks; his father-in-law, Bobby M. Vick; and a brother-in-law, Bill Whitehurst. A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Saturday, August 19, 2023 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. and Rev. Steve Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Boykins Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P. O. Box 347, Boykins, VA 23827 or the American Brain Foundation, 201 Chicago Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55415.
