A native of Southampton County, Va. she was the daughter of John and Sarah Elizabeth Barnes Beale and the widow of Walter L. Brett. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. ' She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Thelma Brett, and Mrs. Gertie Liverman of Murfreesboro, Miss Helen E. Brett of Como, Mrs. Lucy Edwards of Franklin and Mrs. Jennie Mae Williams of Windsor; seven sons, Lewis E. Brett and Dennis L. Brett of Franklin, Ernest L. Brett of Como, Emmett C. Brett of Philadelphia, Calvin S. Brett of Chesapeake, and Walter A. Brett and Julian Brett of Murfreesboro; 19 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren.
