D. Askew, 83, died this afternoon at 5 o'clock at his residence on the North Carolina highway near Suffolk. He had been ill for several months. Surviving, besides his wife, Mrs. Alice Askew, are one daughter, Mrs. Nora Miller, of Norfolk; one son, W. A. Askew, of Suffolk; one brother, E. H. Askew, of Milwaukee, NC; eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. The body was removed to the funeral home of I. O. Hill & Co. in Suffolk, where funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Dr. H. J. Goodwin. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
