Suffolk - Sarah Ann Jones Alexander, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2013. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. 

Sarah was born in Wayne County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Vera Edmondson Jones. She was the President of Alexander's BP Station in Portsmouth. Sarah was predeceased by a sister, Ethel Lane and a brother, Robert B. Jones. 

Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Ronald D. Alexander, Sr. ; six children, Ronald D. Alexander, Jr., Gary L. Alexander, Sr. (Darlene), Rhonda A. Gardner (Ricky), Regina A. DeBusk (John), Roy G. Alexander (Cindy), C. Ricky Alexander (Michelle); 15 grandchildren, Michelle, Kris, Gary, Jr., Jenny, Brian, Shelly, Kimberly, John, Jr., Brian, Morgan, Deidre, Ginger, Dusty, Ty, and Kaitlyn; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Katie Head and a brother, Albert Lee Jones. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 28, from 6:30 to 8 p. m. at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, VA. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 p. m. in Baker-Foster Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Cliff Whitlock. Entombment will follow at Meadowbrook Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association. Condolences may be registered at bakerfoster.com.
