David E. Wright Sr., 68, of the 300 block of Darlene St., a retired automotive mechanic, died May 28, 1991, in a Norfolk hospital. 

Mr. Wright, a native of Holland, Va., had retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Living Word Assembly of God in Suffolk and Roanoke-Chowan Wildlife Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II. 

Survivors include his wife, Emma Vann Wright; a daughter, Linda Eure of Como; four stepdaughters, Linda Duke of Newport News, Jane Daughtry and Peggy Barnes, both of Murfreesboro, and Lois Howard of Franklin; two sons, Donnie Wright and David Wright, both of Franklin; two stepsons, Elmer Vann and Wayne Vann, both of Ahoskie; seven grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren. 

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Chuck Fisher. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park . Friends may join the family at 204 Homestead Road, Franklin. 

Memorial donations may be made to Living Word Assembly of God, Turlington Road, Suffolk.
