 Eddie Mae Woods, 83, of the 500 block of Maycox Ave., died Aug. 8, 1998, in a local hospital. 
Born in Southampton County, Va., she was the widow of Harry W. Woods and a member of Talbot Park Baptist Church. 
Survivors include her daughter, Annette West and her husband, Jim, of Sarasota, Fla.; two sisters, Sara V. Darden of Windsor, Va., and Maggie L. Vaughan of Franklin, Va.; and two grandsons, Joel C. West and Aaron R. West, both of Sarasota. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Irma V. Beale and Temperance V. Vaughan, and a brother, Jesse F. Vaughan. 
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Keith Martin and the Rev. Ed Inabinet. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements.
