   Landon Wilmer Williams, 78, died Oct. 4, 2001, born April 6, 1923, in Nansemond County, he was the son of the late Harry Hunter and Ivy Wright Williams. Mr. Williams was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and the Zuni Hunt Club. He was retired from the US Army as a master sergeant, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was also retired from VDOT. Survivors include his wife Charlotte Irene Foigt Williams; sister, Nannie W. Daniel of Suffolk, nieces, Barbara Moore and Carolyn Pendleton, both of Richmond, Mary Virginia Fink of Franklin, Tenn. A funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Hank Teaque with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral Home today from 5 to 7 p.m.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross disaster Relief Fund, 109 1/2 Clay St., Suffolk, Va. 23434.
