Mr. Williams was a native of Southampton County and was the son of the late Arthur Grover and Fannie Mae Joyner Williams. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a 1950 graduate of the College of William and Mary. He was retired owner of Williams and Company Construction Company and was a member of Capron United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Edna Hall Williams; three daughters, Gayle W. Johnson of Courtland, June W. Redd of Capron and Wendy W. Robbins of Union, Ky.; three sons, Kenneth Clifton Williams and Barry Kent Williams, both of Capron, and Marchant Allen Williams of Tampa, Fla.; three sisters, Daphne W. Dunn of Windsor, Erma W. Joyner of Capron and Leona W. Davis of Courtland; three brothers, Sidney T. Williams of Courtland, Dr. David C. Williams of Richmond and Gene W. Williams of Courtland; and 13 grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Capron United Methodist Church with the Rev. Louis Martin officiating. Interment will be in Capron Cemetery.
