A native of Southampton County, she was the daughter of Henry Earl and Ethel Davis Marks, and the widow of Leslie V. "Big Boy" Whitehead. She had retired as a nurse at Greenville Memorial Hospital, Emporia, and was a member of the Capron United Methodist Church. She loved to fish. She is survived by a daughter, Charlotte W. Rasnake and her husband, Norman of Franklin; three brothers, Ben E. Marks and Lon S. Marks of Capron, Va., and Aubrey P. Marks of Yale; four grandchildren, Kathy P. Darden, David Earl Pope, Robin Lynn Powell, and Dale Henry Pope; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Henry Earl Marks Jr., and Jessie Thomas Marks. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. today at Riverside Cemetery by the Rev. John Wimer and the Rev. Reginald Warren. Wright Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
