Obituary of Robert Henry Webb Sr. ROBERT H. WEBB SR. Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - August 22, 2001 Robert H. Webb Sr. WINDSOR - Robert Henry Webb Sr., 79, of Colosse Road, passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at Louise Obici Hospital, Suffolk. Born in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Guy Leslie Webb and Iola Barrett Webb. Raised in Isle of Wight County, he was a loving husband and father, and a hero to his family. A veteran of World War II, he was captured at Anzio and held as a prisoner of war for 19 months in Germany. He returned home and for many years worked for Marchant-Smith Corona Office Machine Co., in Norfolk. As service manager, he was a respected leader and viewed as a man who could fix anything. He received many awards for excellence. After retiring from office machine work, he ran his own heating-air conditioning business and later drove a school bus for the City of Virginia Beach. He was a lifelong member of Kempsville Baptist Church, member of the Shriners Norfolk Khedive Temple, the Arab Patrol and a Master Mason of the Kempsville Lodge, the Virginia Beach Moose Lodge, and the Norfolk VFW. A man of many interests, he enjoyed the outdoors, sports, boating and his work. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family and his many lifelong friends. Faithful and dependable, he was a man with integrity who always kept his word. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years of marriage, Wanda Frances Webb; a daughter, Joan C. Beltrami and husband James C. of Franklin; sons, Carl W. Webb of Ivor and Dr. Robert H. Webb Jr. and wife Beverly of Augusta, Ga.; along with eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Sybil Lettich of Silver Spring, Md., Alice Jones of Isle of Wight County, Mattie Cardillo of Virginia Beach and Effie Taylor of Portsmouth. He will be deeply missed by them all. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Antioch Christian Church, Windsor , with the Rev. Jarvis Hearn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family for viewing at Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
