Esther Barkley Vick, 85, of Route 1, died April 16, 1991, in a Franklin nursing home. 

Mrs. Vick, a native of Northampton County, N.C., was a member of Newsoms United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Dellie Augusta Vick. 

Survivors include two daughters, Marie V. Vaughan of Atlanta and Mamie V. Nelson of Conway, N.C.; a son, Dellie A. Vick Jr. of Kinston, N.C.; two sisters, Clara W. Crocker of Burlington, N.C., and Essie L. Cates of Graham, N.C.; two half sisters, Betty B. Pruett of Norfolk and Mary B. Ballard of Rocky Mount, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. 

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. today in Newsoms United Methodist Church by the Rev. Charlene Beethoven and the Rev. Kenneth Williams. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery , Newsoms . Friends may join the family from 2 to 4 p.m. today in the church's fellowship hall. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is handling arrangements. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Windsor, Va., Volunteer Rescue Squad.
