Obituary of Alice Lee Bryant Vick ALICE LEE BRYANT VICK Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - January 29, 2003 Alice Lee Bryant Vick, 78, died Jan. 27, 2003 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. A lifelong resident of Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late George L. and Elsie Rowe Bryant and the widow of Samuel Calvin "Buck" Vick Sr. She was a graduate of Courtland High School and attended Pan American Business School in Richmond. Mrs. Vick was a member and first appointed woman trustee of Newsoms United Methodist Church, a member of its United Methodist Women and was honored by the church on Mothers Day 2002 as an "Outstanding Church and Community Member." She was a past member of Newsoms Woman's Club. Survivors include her daughter, Lee Anne Long and husband Wallace of Halifax, N.C.; a son, S.C. "Sammy" Vick Jr. and wife Shannon of Newsoms ; a sister, Eleanor "Kicky" B. Faircloth and husband John of Ivor; four grandchildren, Whitney Louise Vick, Wallace Bryant Long, Warren Carter Long and Sarah Katelyn Long; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, George Leroy Bryant; and two sisters, Gladys Rowe Bryant and Mary Eugenia B. Meharg. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Hollywood Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Gary Hartman officiating. The family will receive friends at Alice Lee's home at 22242 Ball Park Road in Newsoms .
