Obituary of SARAH LOUISE DARDEN VAUGHAN SARAH LOUISE DARDEN VAUGHAN Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - July 18, 2001 Louise Darden Vaughan, 85, of the 100 block of Country Club Road, died July 17, 2001 at home. Born in Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late Hunter and Sallie Lankford Darden and the widow of H. Cecil Vaughan. She was a lifetime member of Sycamore Baptist Church, teacher of first and second grade Sunday School for more than 50 years, and clerk for the church for 26 years. She was a member of the Smiths Ferry Home Demonstration Club. She is survived by two daughters, Martha Barnes and husband, Jim, of Franklin and Barbara Vaughan of Midlothian; two granddaughters, Rebecca Theuer and husband, Steve, of Richmond and Anne Eason and husband, Paul, of Chesapeake; four great-grandchildren, Catherine, Emily and William Theuer and Cole Eason. She is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Cotton and three brothers, Hunter Darden Jr. and wife, Jean, Thomas I. Darden and Charles B. Darden Sr. and wife, Lucy, all of Franklin; two sisters-in-law, Pearl Darden of Franklin and Mary Frances V. Marshall of Richmond; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Harvey Darden. A funeral will be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. at Sycamore Baptist Church. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery .
