Mr. Turner, a native of Southampton County, was retired from Seaboard Railroad after 38 years. He was a member of Boykins Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Estelle Raiford Turner; one stepsister, Adelaide Dunlow of Emporia; two half brothers, David Turner of Boykins and Samuel Turner of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; two nieces and a number of nephews. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Boykins Baptist Church by the Rev. Phil Motley. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery. McDowell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments.
