Obituary of Emma Lucille Rhodes Turner Emma R. Turner Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - December 13, 2005, B-7 WINDSOR - Emma Lucille Rhodes Turner, a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, departed this life Dec. 7, 2005, in her 95th year. She was a resident of Tandem Health Care of Windsor since April 2003. She was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Emma Darden Rhodes. Her husband, Robert Lee Turner and daughters, Grace Lucille Turner and Marjorie Brinkley, preceded Mrs. Turner in death. She was also predeceased by two sisters and four brothers. Mrs. Turner was a faithful member of the former Boaz Presbyterian Church of Windsor. Survivors include a daughter, Jean Turner Joyner; a son, Robert Charles Turner and his wife Nancy; and a son-in-law, Challis Brinkley. Other survivors include seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Turner became part of a special family of friends and staff at the Tandem Health Care in Windsor. A funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Dec. 10, 2005, in the Holland-Rideout Funeral Home Chapel, 1001 Armory Drive, by the Rev. Myron Simmons of the High Street United Methodist Church. Interment followed in the Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery.
