Obituary of Antoinette Barrett Trew ANTOINETTE BARRETT TREW Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - August 27, 1998 Antoinette Barrett Trew, 77, a lifelong resident of Newsoms , died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 1998, at her Statesville Road home. She was the wife of Jack Trew Sr. and the daughter of the late Hugh A. Barrett Sr. and Pearl Darden Barrett. She was a devoted mother and wife and an active member of Barnes United Methodist Church for many years. She was a retired school teacher, having taught children in the Ivor, Drewryville, Colonial Beach, Newsoms and Hunterdale communities. Mrs. Trew is also survived by her sons, Jack Trew Jr. of Courtland, Bruce Trew and wife, Peggy, of Franklin; a sister, Juliette Barrett O'Berry of Newsoms ; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph Barrett and Hugh Barrett Jr. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hollywood Cemetery , Newsoms , with the Rev. Kenneth Williams and the Rev. Charles Langley officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins.
