James J. Tomlin, 71, of 31133 Country Club Road, died Feb. 16, 1993. 

Mr. Tomlin was born in Nansemond County and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from the wood yard of Union Camp Corp. and was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. 

Survivors include his wife, Jane Turner Tomlin; one daughter, Sandra T. Watson of Norfolk; two brothers, Oscar Tomlin of Pennsville, N.J., and William A. Tomlin of Franklin; two grandchildren, James J. Tomlin III of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., and Janice L. Fisk of Albemarle, N.C.; and one great-grandchild, Jayde M. Fisk. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. William Hawkins. The family will receive friends at the residence. Wright Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
