Obituary of Edward Everett Tisdale EDWARD EVERETT TISDALE Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, May 30, 1999 Edward Everett Tisdale, 91, a longtime resident of Joyner, Va., died May 28, 1999, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mr. Tisdale was born Sept. 15, 1907, a son of the late Alvan R. and Ray Smith Tisdale. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and had retired as an electrician from DuPont. Mr. Tisdale, affectionately known as ``mayor of Joyner,'' was a member of Joyner United Methodist Church and the Joyner-Gray-Yale Ruritan Club. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Louella Vick Tisdale; three sisters, Christine T. Litch of Ellicot City, Md., Martha T. Gee of Kenbridge, Va., and Ray T. Wills of Suffolk; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters, Alvan Tisdale Jr., Aubrey Tisdale, Fred Tisdale, Evelyn Matthews and Lucy Tisdale. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at Joyner United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lowell Stovall officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery , Courtland . The family will receive friends at the home of Catherine Everett, 22027 Southampton Parkway, Courtland . The family suggests that memorials may be made to Joyner United Methodist Church, c/o Rubie E.
