Mr. Taylor was born in Ewing, Va. He had retired as a construction foreman from the Virginia Department of Transportation. He was a member of Mount Carmel Christian Church, Walters; Independent of Order of Odd Fellows 178; and Mountain Empire Older Citizens Group. Survivors include a daughter, Thelma Ray of Rose Hill; two sons, Paul E. Taylor of Rose Hill and Bill E. Taylor of Dayton, Ohio; five sisters, Elizabeth Hall of Monticello, Ky., Elsie Ayers of Dayton, Gladys Keys of Middlesboro, Ky., Nan Lee Hammons of Ronceverte, W.Va., and Lillian Howard of Milan, Mich.; a brother, Lloyd Taylor of Milan; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The funeral was held Sept. 20 in Carty Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in Mount Carmel Christian Church Cemetery, Walters, by the Rev. Robert Bennett.
