Obituary of Mary Elba Council Taylor MARY ELBA COUNCILL GRIZZARD TAYLOR Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - November 7, 2001 Mary Elba Council Taylor, 90, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001. Born in Northampton County, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Cecil Council and Addie Council Grizzard and the widow of Henry Thomas Taylor Sr. Mrs. Taylor was retired from Aster Nut Co. and a member of Boykins Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Addie Flowers and her husband, J. Bruce Flowers, of Drewryville, their children, Jerry B. Flowers III and wife Lou of Courtland, and children, Madeline, Wes, Max and Mary; Bill Taylor Flowers and his wife, Brenda, of Courtland and children, Taylor and Bennett; Jeanette Flowers Belcher and husband Sanford of Franklin and children, J.T. and Daniel; daughter, Harriette Singleton and her husband, Hugh, of Mechanicsville, Va., and their son, Michael; a son, Rowland L. ''Bucky'' Taylor and his wife, Vickie, of Franklin and their children, Nikki and Chip; and children preceding Mrs. Taylor in death whose surviving family includes: Joyce Taylor, widow of Henry Thomas Taylor Jr., of Drewryville and children, Debbie Wilmouth and her children, Mandy and Cory; Sherry Dale and son, Brady and Tripp Taylor and children, Kinsey and Thomas and the late Gene Andrew Taylor and his son, Gene A. Taylor Jr. of Scottsdale, Ariz., his wife, Karen and children, Alexandria, Elizabeth and William. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Boykins Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Speight of Courtland Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery.
