Obituary of GLENNIS W. TART The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - April 21, 1994 Glennis Winston Tart, 80, of Robinhood Road, died April 20, 1994, in Winston-Salem, N.C. Mrs. Tart was born in Richmond and was the daughter of the late Henry E. and Mary Inez Saunders Winston. She had retired as a bookkeeper from Tart Pharmacy and was a longtime devoted member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Mrs. Tart was instrumental in starting the band program at Franklin High School in 1956 and was a former president of both the Franklin Girl Scouts and the Tri-County Girl Scouts. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Rupert Graham Tart; one daughter, Civil T. Archer of Advance, N.C.; one son, Rupert G. "Bucky" Tart Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska; one half-brother, Henry Winston of Richmond; four grandchildren, Amy Tart, Page Archer, Kelly Archer and Jenny Archer. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Franklin Congregational Church by the Rev. Lafayette T. Wilkins and the Rev. W.A. Grissom. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
