STRADLEY Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - September 16, 1998 Ralph Thomas Stradley, former owner and operator of Dockside Restaurant and the Bronco Drive Inn, died Sept. 14, 1998. Born May 29, 1929, in Murfreesboro, N.C., he was a son of the late William Charles and Blanche Bess Stradley. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Stradley was a former member of the Hunterdale Ruritan Club, the Franklin Moose Lodge, Camp P.D. Hunt Club and the VFW. He was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Sylvia Williams Stradley; one daughter, Katrine S. Spruill and her husband, Dennis, of Como, N.C.; two sons, Joseph William Stradley and his wife, Estelle, of Windsor, James Marvin Stradley and his wife, Ginger, of Franklin; one sister, Clara Stradley Worrell of Holland, Va.; two brothers, Charles Stradley and Bobby Stradley, both of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Amy Stradley, Jay T. Stradley, Jacob Fields, Denton Spruill, Trista Fields, Sarah Jo Stradley and Shirley Lee Spruill. He was predeceased by a son, Ralph Thomas Stradley Jr. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Lafayette Wilkins. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Franklin Congregational Christian Church, 412 N.
