A lifelong resident of Franklin, she was a daughter of the late Willie Edward and Nellie Cutchins Lowe and retired from Union Camp Corporation where she worked as a sales correspondent. Nell was a humble and faithful servant of the Lord who strove to daily "walk in the master's footsteps." Survivors include a sister, Doris L. Porter and husband, Cecil of Franklin; a brother-in-law, Irvin M. Porter of Franklin; a niece, Cecilia P. Creech and husband, Wayne of Raleigh, N.C.; three nephews, Cecil Lawrence Porter Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., Max B. Porter and wife, Barbette, of Courtland and Clay D. Porter and wife, Tammy of Franklin; eight great-nieces and -nephews who were loved as "grandchildren," Calvert Miles Porter, Quinton McDowell Porter, Jessica Ann Porter, Brynner Irvin Porter, Camden Lowe Porter, Jenna Leigh Creech, Aaron Porter Creech and Kathryn Paige Creech. A twin sister, Willie L. Porter predeceased her. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Poplar Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Ira D. Hudgins and the Rev. Steve Bradshaw officiating.
