Obituary of RICHARD LEE SODERQUIST Chief Petty Officer Richard L. "Sody" Soderquist, U.S. Navy (ret.), 57, of 13117 Old Belfield Road, died Nov. 7, 1995, in Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital. Mr. Soderquist was a native of Denver, Colo., and a former resident of Norfolk. He was retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a welder-millwright with Dyn Corporation of Portsmouth. He was an Episcopalian. Survivors include his wife, Anne G. Soderquist; six daughters, Diane S. Lipari of Toms River, N.J., Robin C. Soderquist of Buford, Ga., Carolyn Jarratt of Boykins, Brenda Thomas of Drewryville, Cathy White and Gloria Kolodziej, both of Portsmouth; his parents, Harold and Emma Soderquist of Mesa, Ariz.; one sister, Susan Rand of Scottsdale, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, Kevin and Eric Kolodziej, Debbie and Jennifer White, Rick and Chad Jarratt, Tonya and Kimie Bunch, and Joseph Richard Lipari; and one great-grandson, Jay Crowe. A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 1995, in Drewryville Memorial Cemetery by the Rev. Edmund Ellis. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, from 7 to 8 p.m. today and suggest that memorials be made to the Capron Rescue Squad, Capron, Va. 23829.
