Obituary of Doris Loden Smith DORIS LODEN SMITH Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - August 7, 1997 Doris Loden Smith, 64, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1997, in her Windsor home on Virginia Ave. Mrs. Smith was an active member of Windsor Congregational Christian Church, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and artist, who will be deeply missed. She was born in Daytona Beach, Fla., and lived in the Bennett's Creek area of Suffolk and Isle of Wight County for the last 35 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Daisy Ionne and Carl Loden Sr. of Isle of Wight County; two brothers, Carl Loden Jr. and Jack S. Loden of Macon, Ga. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Vernon J. Smith Jr.; two sons and their wives, Terry Lee and Judy Ann Smith of Windsor, Todd J. and Deborah Renda Smith of Smithfield; five grandchildren, Leanne Nicole, Austin Lee, Amber Lauren, Craig Allen and Todd J. Smith Jr.; and many good friends and neighbors. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Windsor Congregational Christian Church by the Rev. Basil L. Ballard with burial in Windsor Cemetery . The family will receive friends in R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Windsor Congregational Christian Church, 4 N. Court St., Windsor, Va. 23487.
