Obituary of Deborah Kay Sikkenga DEBORAH KAY SMITH SIKKENGA Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - December 31, 2003 Deborah Kay "Deb" Sikkenga, 43, died Dec. 29, 2003 at her home. Born Dec. 31, 1959, in Ashland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Carolyn Virginia Cobb Smith of Kalamazoo, Mich. and the late Keith Howard Smith. Mrs. Sikkenga was a physical therapy assistant with Chesapeake Center at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital and a member of Antioch Church in Windsor. Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Mark K. Sikkenga; daughter, Katherine "Katie" Ann Sikkenga; brother, Eric "Ric" M. Smith of Windsor; sisters, Karen C. Duran of Phoenix, Ariz., and Christine L. Pfeifle of Paw Paw, Mich.; mother and father-in-law, John and Joyce Sikkenga of Kalamazoo, Mich.; brothers-in-law, Greg Sikkenga of Hickory Corner, Mich. and Chad Sikkenga of Kalamazoo; sisters-in-law, Jane Johnson of Schoolcraft, Mich. and Kris Bronsink of Muskegon, Mich.; and special friends, Mitch and Wanda Hixon of Philomath, Ore. A funeral will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home and Crematory by the Rev. Mark Habecker with burial in Windsor Cemetery .
