Obituary of Everette Mabry Scott Sr. EVERETTE MABRY SCOTT Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - July 13, 1999 Everette Mabry Scott Sr., 71, of Church St., died Sunday, July 11, 1999, in Chesapeake General Hospital. He was a native of Isle of Wight County and retired as owner of E.M. Scott Inc. Trucking. Mr. Scott was a member of Windsor Christian Church, where he served as a deacon and on the Board of Finance. He was on the Windsor Town Council for 21 years, was a former member of the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department, a past board member of Isle of Wight Academy and helped to start the Annual Pig Picking in 1979. He served on the Board of Directors of Farmers Bank. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine S. Eason. Survivors include his wife, Anna Hall Scott; two sons and daughters-in-law, Everette M. Scott Jr. and Luann W. Scott of Windsor, Joseph Wayne Scott and Joan T. Scott of Suffolk; a sister, Hilda Mae S. Sykes of Smithfield; two brothers, Durwood V. Scott of Windsor and W. Taylor Scott of Portsmouth; and three grandchildren, Courtney N. Scott, W. Jeremy Scott and Elizabeth H. Scott. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Windsor Cemetery with the Rev. Basil L. Ballard officiating. The family will receive friends at their residence and suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Disease & Related Disorders, No. 20 Interstate Corp.
