Obituary of Alwin Brandon Scott Jr. ALWIN BRANDON SCOTT JR. Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - September 30, 2002 Alwin Brandon "A.B." Scott Jr., 78, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002. Born in Lawrenceville, he was a son of the late Alwin Brandon and Viola Taylor Scott. An Army veteran of the European theater during World War II, he was a retired railroad conductor with 30 years of service with Norfolk Southern Railroad. "A.B." was past president of the Franklin Lion's Club, a member of VFW Post 8048 in Lawrenceville and the Knights of Pythias in Norfolk. He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Emmaline Hatchett Scott; two sons, John Randolph "Randy" Scott and his wife Pamela of Glen Allen, Va. and Andrew Henry "Andy" Scott of Richmond; a sister, Elizabeth S. Causey of Wilson, N.C.; a brother, Robert "Bobby" L. Scott of Hampton; two grandchildren, Lori Nicole Scott and Shannon Marie Scott. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Poplar Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Linda Alvis and the Rev. Edward Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home and suggests that memorials be made to High Street United Methodist Church, P.O.
