Martha L. Savage, 81, a retired librarian and teacher, died June 4, 1991, in a nursing home.  

Miss Savage, a native of Franklin, was a graduate of the College of William and Mary and received her master's degree in library science from the University of North Carolina. She taught English at Boykins High School and retired from the Walter C. Rawls Library in Courtland as a bookmobile driver. She was a member of Franklin Presbyterian Church.  

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Henry P. Deyerle of Harrisonburg, and a brother, S.B. Savage Jr. of Alexandria.  

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Dennis Tedder. Wright Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
