Mary Rawls Rountree, 81, of Rolen Drive, died July 14, 1995, after a long illness. 

Mrs. Rountree was a native of Capron, Va., and was formerly of Newsoms, Va. She was the widow of Benjamin Rountree. Mrs. Rountree was retired as a head teller from Merchants and Farmers Bank, Portsmouth. She was a member of Newsoms United Methodist Church. 

Survivors include nieces and nephews. 

A graveside memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday at the Capron Cemetery by Rev. Derrick Koolman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Capron United Methodist Church Flower Fund, c/o Capron U.M.C., Capron, Va. 23829. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is handling arrangements.
