FRANKLIN - Inez Porter Rountree, 76, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at the Courtland Health Care Center. A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Johnnie Drake Porter and Genie Louis Porter Jr. and the widow of John David Rountree. She was valedictorian of the 1944 class of Newsoms High School and was a member of Barnes United Methodist Church. 
   Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly S. Rountree of Franklin; a son, J. David Rountree Jr. and his wife, Karen, of North Attleboro, Mass.; two sisters, Marion Howell and Sally O'Berry, both of Franklin; a brother, J.L. Porter Jr. of Newsoms; three grandchildren, Kristen, Amy and Kelly Rountree. Mrs. Rountree was predeceased by two sisters, Katherine Blythe and Mabel Hill; and two brothers, James Porter and Randolph Porter. 
   A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Gary Hartman and Lloyd Rountree officiating. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Association, 1501 West Broad St., Suite 217, Richmond, VA 23230.
