Mary Ellen Phillips Rose, 67, of Old South Quay Road, Suffolk, died Jan. 20, 1993, in Obici Memorial Hospital. 

Mrs. Rose was born in South Carolina and was the widow of Guy W. Rose. She was a Baptist. 

Survivors include two daughters, Carole R. Pieart and Lori Rose, both of Suffolk; two sons, David W. Rose of Denbigh and Douglas Rose of Zuni; one sister, Clara P. Moseley of Chester; one brother, Troy Arthur Phillips Jr. of Chesterfield; and five grandchildren, David W. Rose Jr., Dean Rose, Bethany Rose, Judith Rose and Amanda Pieart. 

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, in Southampton Memorial Park by the Rev. Donald Trump. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 1314 Spring St. N.W., Atlanta, Ga. 30309.
