Obituary of Virginia Adelle Story Ricks VIRGINIA ADELLE STORY RICKS: Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - December 27, 2001 FRANKLIN - Virginia Adelle Story Ricks, 79, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at her residence. Born in Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Benny Elijah Story and Essie Brewer Story, and was the widow of David Randolph Ricks. She was a homemaker and a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Betty R. Harrison and her husband Meade of McKenney, Va., and Shirley R. Vinson of Franklin; two sons, David R. Ricks Jr. and his wife Arlean and Benny E. Ricks and his wife Marina, all of Franklin; three sisters, Pauline S. Dunlow of Franklin, Mildred S. Schultz of Amelia, Va., and Louise S. Harrell of Como, N.C.; two brothers, Walter Story of Como, and Ray Story of Petersburg; nine grandchildren, Rhee Cumbey, Renee Felts, Randi Foster, Tripp Vinson, Theresa Jennings, Trina Stout, Ben Ricks, Bardon Moore and Bill Ricks; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ricks was predeceased by two brothers, Joe and Roland Story, and one sister, Clara McDaniel. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Sharon James officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Horeb Cemetery.
