Born June 11, 1930, in Walters, Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Herbert and Eva Lena Duck Johnson and the widow of Junious Thomas Rainey. A long time resident of Franklin, Mrs. Rainey was retired from A&P and was a member of the Pythian Sisters Southampton Temple No. 15. She was a member of Burdette Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Thomason, and her husband, Henry, of Franklin; her son, Steve Rainey, of Franklin; three grandchildren, Shelly Thomason, Beau Thomason and Justin Rainey; as well as many loving friends, nieces and nephews. The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Larry Cribb and the Rev. Kenneth Williams. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends at the home of Henry and Cindy Thomason, 1108 N. High St., and suggest that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1290 Seminole Trail, Suite 2, Charlottesville, Va. 22901.
