Mrs. Railey, a native of Southampton County, was a daughter of the late Zolie Thomas and Alice Drake Bradshaw. Mrs. Railey was the retired cafeteria manager at Southampton High School and a member of the Newsoms United Methodist Church. She was an avid bridge player. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Russell Brett Railey; two daughters, Barbara L. Railey of Williamsburg and Dorothy R. Grizzard and her husband, Jerry, of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, Craig O. Smith and his wife, Alice, of Yorktown, Todd B. Smith and his wife, Kristen, of Newport News, Susan G. Hiser and her husband, Brian, of Gloucester, Kim G. Jones and her husband, Lew, of Yorktown; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Newsoms United Methodist Church by the Rev. Derek Koolman and the Rev. Kenneth Williams. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery . The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, at 7 p.m. today and suggests that memorials be made to Newsoms United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 235, Newsoms , Va. 23874.
