   COURTLAND - James Arthur Pulley Sr., 68, a lifelong resident of Courtland, died Oct. 9, 2004, at his home. A son of the lare Roy Thomas and Nettie Vaughan Pulley, he was a retired farmer and former employee of Franklin Equipment Co.
   Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Sarah Whitaker Pulley; a daughter, Sarah Halsey; four sons, James, Roy, Dennis and Mayo Pulley; a sister, Lucille Vick; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
   A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, Va., with the family receiveing friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, Va.
