Carolyn Cutchin Powell, 80, died July 27, 1992, in a hospital. 
Mrs. Powell was born in Isle of Wight County and was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Westhampton College, Richmond. She was the widow of R.H. Powell Jr. 
Survivors include a son, Robert H. Powell III of Virginia Beach; and four grandchildren. 
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, by the Rev. Ira Hudgins. Friends may join the family at Woods Edge Retirement Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Wright Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the scholarship fund at Franklin Baptist Church.
