CHEASPEAKE - Mildred Lee Porter, 86, of the 3000 block of Welcome Road died June 14. [2003]
  She was a native of Newsoms and a member of Philadelphia Church of Christ, where shwas a faithful member and the Mother of the church.
  She is survived by her god daughter, Deborah Ann Sanderlin of Chesapeake; three sisters, Marie Flythe of Newsoms, Gladys Harper of South Carolina and Stella Scott of New York; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
  A funeral was conducted Saturday at noon in Philadelphia Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Newsoms Cemetery [Hollywood], Newsoms. Viewing was Friday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
