She was a faithful member of Newsoms Baptist Church, the Dill Darden Circle, and she was a Sunday school teacher. She was the beloved wife of the late James H. Porter, with whom she co-owned and operated Porter's Store, Newsoms . She was a native of Southampton County and the daughter of the late Charlie W. and Annie Rebecca Gray Fuller. Mrs. Porter is survived by a brother, James R. Fuller of Courtland; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Rufus Fuller; and a sister, Vergie Fuller Ferguson. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel, by the Rev. Kenneth Williams and the Rev. Derek Koolman. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery , Newsoms . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Newsoms Baptist Church.
