Obituary of SALLIE TUCKER POLAND The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - November 16, 1993 Mrs. Sallie Tucker Poland, age 104, a longtime resident of East Pavilion in Franklin, died on Nov. 15, 1993, at Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. Mrs. Poland was a native of Warren County, N.C., the daughter of the late Stephen Daniel and Mary Walker Tucker. She attended Eastern Carolina Teacher's College and taught school in North Carolina. She was also employed by the Seaboard Railroad in North Carolina. She was the oldest member of the Boykins United Methodist Church, Boykins. She was the widow of William B. Poland Sr. and mother of the late Sarah P. Michlik and H. Tucker Poland. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Margaret B. Thompson of Hampton and Mrs. Ray P. Bradshaw of Franklin; two sons, William B. Poland Jr. of Hampton and Robert B. Poland of Boykins; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1993, at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. James W. Browder III.
