Obituary of JAMES LEON PINNER Virginian Pilot 08-21-1996 FRANKLIN - James Leon Pinner, 72, a resident of Franklin, died Monday Aug. 19, 1996, at his home. Born in Southampton County, he was the son of the late Leon and Jeanette Coggsdale Pinner. He was a retired electrician and former employee of Angus Hines Corporation. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church, Woodmen of the World and was a charter member of the Suffolk Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Mary Matthews Pinner; a daughter, Patricia P. Bailey of Richmond; a son, J. Cecil Pinner of Atlanta, Ga.; his beloved grandchildren, Tonya Bailey and Jimmy Pinner and his wife, Robin, of Franklin, Lyn and Craig Pinner of Charleston, S.C., Katherine Underwood of Spottsylvania, Va., Justin Underwood of Deltaville, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Nicole and Richard Bailey of Franklin, Chelsea Pinner of Boykins and Lindsey Ann Pinner of Charleston. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in Southampton Memorial Park, Franklin, by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins and Rev. Roy E. DeBrand. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 today in Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins, and at other times at the residence, 32354 Sandy Ridge Road, Franklin.
